S\u00e3o Paulo, January 2018<\/strong> – After the successful launch last year, the second edition of Biomass Day – International Biomass Congress gained two whole days for more discussions on the potential and demand for incentives for biomass as a source of energy and generation of products with high added value. The event takes place at the S\u00e3o Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center from May 22 to 24 and the enrollments can be made through the site www.enersolarbrasil.com.br <\/a>.
\nThe Biomass Day is held within the 7th EnerSolar + Brasil | International Fair of Technologies for Solar Energy<\/strong>, organized by Cipa Fiera Milano<\/strong>. The conference theme is “Demand for incentives before a mega potential and proven results” and each day will have a sub-theme: regulatory and market scenario for biomass agents; results in the application of agro-biotechnology and green chemistry; profitability of waste.<\/p>\n

According to the commercial director of Cipa Fiera Milano, Rimantas Sipas, the main objective is to stimulate with the Brazilian market the discussion that biomass is, first and foremost, source for bioenergy generation. ” We will thoroughly discuss issues such as the impacts of the revision of electric sector standards and financing of projects for entrepreneurs, researchers, government representatives and other entities,” he says.<\/p>\n

The first Biomass Day round table will be opened by the of Felsberg Advogados, Fabricio Soler, responsible for the Department of Environment and Sustainability and president of the Energy Law Commission of OAB\/SP. It highlights the relevance and contemporaneity of the event by highlighting the discussion on biomass in the current scenario where there are so many obstacles to hydro energy and many difficulties associated to large hydropower licensing in Brazil.<\/p>\n

“I intend to address the latest regulations at the national level and in the states for biomass, bagasse and sugarcane straw, wood wastes, urban solid waste, among others, as well as economic and financial instruments that encourage expansion of this energy source, “he explains. According to Soler, it is highly necessary to encourage new investments in this segment, increasing the share of renewable sources in the energy matrix.<\/p>\n

The executive manager of ABiog\u00e1s<\/strong> – Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira de Biog\u00e1s e Biometano, Camila Agner D’Aquino, will participate in the second roundtable and stresses the importance of giving visibility to the issues related to biomass and biogas for the qualified public of various sectors that visit EnerSolar + Brazil. “We seek to promote a paradigm shift. In Brazil, over the last 50 years, biogas has been seen as a byproduct of waste and effluent treatment. We want to demonstrate that with the use of efficient and appropriate technology it is possible to transform what is now seen as an environmental liability into an energy asset.”
\nOther professional invited who will address several topics within the Biomass Day include the Director of Technology and Solar and Biomass Regulation in Cogen – Associa\u00e7\u00e3o da Ind\u00fastria de Cogera\u00e7\u00e3o de Energia, Leonardo Caio Filho; president of Udop – Uni\u00e3o dos Produtores de Bioenergia, Celso Junqueira Franco; and the commercial coordinator of the BH Regional Alsol Energias Renov\u00e1veis, Cristiano Piroli.<\/p>\n
